Your Pathway
Director Credential
The Maine Director Credential is designed for directors, administrators, and lead staff in licensed or regulated child care and out-of-school time facilities who are responsible for the daily operation, supervision, and administration of their program. It formally recognizes the skills required to lead effectively — supporting staff, managing operations, engaging families, and driving program quality.The Director Credential also supports the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Alternative Pathway for Program Administrators pursuing national accreditation.
Maine Technical Assistance Credential
The Maine Technical Assistance Credential is designed for ECE professionals who have moved into — or are actively working toward — roles as mentors, coaches, consultants, or peer-to-peer network facilitators. It formally recognizes expertise in supporting others in their ongoing professional learning and is grounded in Maine's Technical Assistance Competencies for the Early Childhood Workforce.This is an advanced credential with significant education, training, and experience requirements. It is intended for professionals who are already working in a technical assistance capacity or who are on a clear path toward one.
Leadership and Specialist Credentials
In addition to the Director Credential and the Maine Technical Assistance Credential, MRTQ PDN offers the Inclusion Credential and the Family Child Care Credential — both of which recognize advanced expertise in specialized areas of practice. All Leadership and Specialist Credentials are designed for professionals who have already established a foundation in direct care.
